Ahh... a conundrum we have here. Traditionally, I am not a huge fan of Ralph Lauren's baby collection. It's not that I dislike what they do, it just doesn't do much for me. But now they had to go and make a three piece bib gift set with tartan. I LOVE TARTAN. You with this round, Ralph Lauren; I think these are fabulous. Even with the tartan and dark colors, in my opinion these would be perfect for both the gentlemen and the ladies. And, with dark colors, less showing of stains! What more could you ask for? Find this perfect Christmas gift (oh yes I just went there) at Children Salon.
Whatcha looking for?

Cutest Bib Ever.
No really. This bandanna star bib by Ikks may be the cutest darn thing I have ever seen. It has this cowboy-esque "V" bandanna shape and little tassels and stars and come on it's just precious. My only worry is about how dirty the little white tassels will get, as they will surely act as tiny mops and soak up the gigantor mess that typically ends up on a high chair tray, but minor details right? Pick one up for your little buckaroo for $27.00 at Children Salon.

Cavalli Bib Gift Set... And Other Things.
Okay, I know how it works with seasons and department stores and online and blah blah blah. You see bathing suits on the racks in February when you can't help but think, "Oh hell no, I am too pale and fat for that!" And how about right now, when I am browsing Children Salon, and click "New In" and it's all snowsuits and puffer jackets and fuzzy hats??? Nooooo!!! I'm not ready. It's July. And not even mid-July, so the summer isn't even halfway over. I'll be darned if department stores make me think otherwise! Aaaaanyway... I chose something neutral to share from Children Salon, such as this three piece bib gift set from Roberto Cavalli. The colors and incorporation of that famous leopard print that Cavalli loves is just about perfect: tasteful and fun yet not obnoxious. And the price? A not so bad $115.00! Get yours now... along with a snowsuit.

New Bibs from Gucci baby!
Ahh Gucci... the king of expensive baby items. From little rain coats to boots to fedoras and yes, even bibs. Saks has these three right now, new for spring 2012. I must say, I am loving the little birdie one! Typically, Gucci goes for the traditional GG print when it comes to its baby accessories (bibs, hats, bottle covers...) and it makes me happy to see that they are exploring more baby-esque themes. And days of the week Gucci bibs? Yes please! Could you imagine opening something like that as a gift and not squealing, "How much did you pay for these?!" So on that note, get ready for the prices. Gucci birdie bib: $195.00. Logo print bib: $120.00. Days of the week bibs: $355.00. Get the credit card ready!

Another Expensive Bib from Baby Dior
Is it just me or is everyone turning up pregnant lately? I feel like my entire Facebook news feed from my personal page is filled with those strange baby updates that shows what week people are in and if their baby looks like a dinosaur or an actual human being. "Jill is at 22 weeks!" "Abby is at 12 weeks!" I mean is the entire world pregnant except for me? Maybe I can make a recommendation for my more financially sound friends, with the $82.00 baby bib from Dior. $82.00! Wonders never cease. It is tax return season, so if you are lucky enough to have some extra cash, you can find this at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Designer Bibs Are Expensive.
I mean, it's not like that is a big shock or anything. The idea of a designer bib still kind of boggles my mind because, well, babies destroy bibs. I keep picturing this beautifully constructed and detailed bib by Baby Dior smeared with baby food carrots. And peas. And sweet potatoes. Better have plenty of Oxy Clean on hand, because it would be a crime to keep this bib looking anything but pristine. Why? It costs $53.00. Find yours at Children Salon.

Baby Dior Star Bib = Expensive.
The fact that Baby Dior is all over the star print this Fall/Winter season still has not gotten any less exciting for me. And in this bib, the stars might as well be inlaid with gold, because this thing is EXPENSIVE! For $95.00, this cotton bib comes embellished with a huge white bow laid out like a tuxedo-style collar (I bet food will love to trap itself in there) and an all-over star/splatter pattern. Adorable, but probably not something I would splurge on. Find it at Saks!

Plain Mary Circus Print Gift Set
Things I like: circus-themed prints. Things I don't like: circuses. I love reading about old carnivals and I love making art with the carnival/circus theme, but after reading about how the animals are treated and then thinking about how these poor confused animals are kept in cages and carted all over the country and trained to do very strange things... it's weird right? Maybe I have just had too much coffee this morning and am letting the racing thoughts take over, but I have only been to one circus and do not plan on returning. Stick with Cirque du Soleil, which if you have never seen before, you MUST splurge for the tickets and do it. Amazing. Anyway, this three piece gift set from Plain Mary consists of a bib, burp cloth, and personalized changing pad. One side is a vintage circus print and the other is a soft microsuede or terry, depending on the item. Sure, it is another typical gift set, but the print and colors of this one really make it stand out. See more details of this $110.00 set at Saks.

Animal Print Bibs from Mud Pie
Interesting concept going on here... an over-the-top bib. Ever seen a plain cloth bib completely destroyed by baby food carrots/squash/sweet potatoes/peas/etc? Of course you have; anyone who either has a baby or has been around a baby has seen that. Imagine that hot mess tangled up in bows and ruffles. There would be no wiping this bib clean; it would need a trip to the washing machine, every time. Even so, it's kind of cute, and I have never seen a bib like it before. Unique is always good right? Stock up on Tide and grab these for just $12.99 each at My Baby Clothes Boutique.

Armani Junior Days of the Week Bibs
Days of the week sets are just great, especially for the generation that has new babies right now: for the majority of us probably had at least one "Days of the Week" set of undies. And like us, our babies now probably wear Tuesday's bib on Sunday, but who cares? It's all about the novelty of the idea. We love it, no explanation necessary. This is why I get excited when I see a new days of the week set, like this one from Armani Junior. Seven bibs, each with a different picture for each different day. What is interesting to me is that the day of the week is on the tag sticking off of the item, when it is the word "Armani" that is displayed underneath. I love a little twist like that. You must pay the price though, of $114.00, to brighten your days with these bibs. Find them at Children Salon.

Hello Gucci Bibs!
Can I just complain about the heat one more time? Holy LORD, it's HOT! The sun has long since set here in the Midwest but it is still hovering around 90 degrees. Not okay. I am also on my eighth load of laundry. Not okay either. On a brighter note, there are only two days until the weekend. And on a brighter note than that, how amusing is it to see a huge name like Gucci on a bib?? If i ever saw a child in a restaurant wearing a Gucci bib, I might assume it's fake. Then again, I go to restaurants like Panera and Chipotle. One might be more likely to see a Gucci bib someplace a bit more... upscale. So these three bibs boast three versions of the Gucci logo. They are cotton and snap closed like any normal bib, but they are Gucci bibs. Therefore, the price tag for these three is a ginormous $150.00. $50.00 per bib! Amazing. Find them at Neiman Marcus.

Behold: A $51.00 Bib.
Yeah. That's not a joke. Thanks to Tartine et Chocolat, a $51.00 baby bib is totally possible. A baby bib. Which gets absolutely disgusting with food that has either been around your baby's mouth, or actually in your baby's mouth, then spit back out. Sometimes I get slightly bitter about money, because while there are people in the Mississippi River region who have lost everything due to flooding, people in Japan who have lost everything in the earthquake and tsunami, people who make minimum wage and are barely scraping by, there are people who can spend $51.00 on a bib. Sometimes it just doesn't seem fair. Money is tricky, and I know it's a problem that can never be fixed. Some have it, some don't. It's a harsh reality to accept. So if you are one of the lucky few who have $51.00 laying around with nothing to spend it on, maybe you can purchase this bib from Children Salon, because after all, it is pretty cute.

Armani Baby 7 Days of the Week Bibs
Looking at these bibs, all I can think about is how much I want to see someone, a baby, a deranged adult, anyone, wearing the bib that says "Friday." We found out at work on Monday that we are being audited this week, and it has been all downhill since then. No time for fun, no time for blogging, no time to think about anything but scrambling to put everything together at work. I miss college jobs. Panera was never this stressful. And we got free bagels like every day. Anyway, I thought these bibs from Armani were appropriate for my current mind frame. Three more days until Friday! See these for $148.00 at Children Salon.

Roberto Cavalli Baby Girls Animal Bibs
Baby animals are just about the perfect thing to brighten up an otherwise crappy Monday. I think my mood started to turn while watching America's Funnest Home Videos (I mean it is pretty hard to be fussy while watching that anyway) and there was a video of this fuzzy baby brown piglet trying to bury itself in a gorilla slipper. Just try to be in a bad mood while watching that. So, continuing on with the baby animal day-brightening theme, these new Roberto Cavalli bibs are pretty adorable. Soft cotton with contrasting trim, these bibs depict the signature leopard cub and a baby zebra that I not seen in Cavalli's baby collection as of yet. Find these for $54.00 at Children Salon.

More Great Floral Patterns: Marie Chantal Bibs
I don't know that I have ever seen bibs this shape... it's like a tear drop meets a handkerchief. I must say I kind of love it! The patterns are what got me though, pretty much any of the patterns utilized by Marie-Chantal = fabulous. At $24.00 apiece, I would be tempted to collect the whole set.

"My Little Black Bib" by Sara Kety
I first blogged about Sara Kety here... and I still think she is hilarious. And a genius. A play on that little black dress that every woman should have, every baby girl should have a little black bib as well. Love it. Find this for $16.00 at Barney's New York.
Gucci Bibs Cost A Lot.
If you saw a baby in a restaurant wearing a Gucci bib, would you think it was real? I might be inclined to think that it came from some crazy designer knockoff van parked in a church parking lot (you know the kind I mean... they sell knockoff bags out of the back until a cop rolls by, then they speed away). Perhaps I feel this way because I probably would never be able to afford to eat in the same kind of restaurant that people who own Gucci bibs eat at. Who knows. But three bibs, all very cute, all brandishing the Gucci logo, $150.00 total. So much for the price break for buying the set. See more unimaginable luxuries at gucci.com.

Baby Dior Bear Bib
Ahh tax season... everyone has visions of filing their taxes and getting a big fat refund check and either using it wisely, or splurging on something they would not normally buy. Maybe something like this $65.00 bib from Baby Dior. Now first of all, as I found out today, I will not be splurging, nor spending my refund wisely, because I owe money. I was so mad when I completed my return online and saw the amount that I deleted all of my information and will not file until April. All fussiness aside, this bib is adorable: little bears, clever logo placement, and very simple. If you are lucky unlike me, and have a giant tax return, you could maybe spend it on expensive clothes at lavishkids.com.

A Very Expensive Armani Bib
The designer bibs always crack me up. Bibs get absolutely destroyed with food and grime and juice... yet designer are still able to stick a giant price tag on a bib bearing their name, and they sell. It is kind of a fun idea after all, and if you have money to blow, then why not? This is a new bib from Armani Junior. It comes with its own cute little gift bag and has a cute little rabbit on it... and can be yours for a cute little price of $46.00, from Children Salon.

Unique Bibs from Teacups and Mudpies
I have always had an affinity for bibs. It started when I was little and my mom gave me all of my old baby clothes for my dolls. I had favorite bibs, and some I could even remember wearing when I was a baby. They were great 80's bibs. Very horribly colorful and fabulous. So when I stumbled upon teacupsandmudpies.com's bib collection, I was pretty enthralled. They have so many unique designs: everything from manga to guavas. You could get a bunch with a similar color theme or pattern, or pick the perfect one to complete a themed gift basket. Or just collect them all, for $21.95 apiece.
