Roberto Cavalli's Fall 2012 Floral

Roberto Cavalli floral onesie

Roberto Cavalli floral zip-up jacket

Roberto Cavalli floral baby changing mat

Roberto Cavalli floral infant's bubble dress
Alright, so we all know I went a little ballistic over Roberto Cavalli's peony pattern this past spring. But then again, who didn't? It was such an amazing and refreshing break from their usual (but fabulous) leopard print and ruffles. For fall 2012, Cavalli has done it again with yet another amazing floral pattern. The colors are so rich and warm, and I love the gold-toned ornate details that is tangled up among the flowers. Like the peony pattern was, you can find this pattern on everything from baby bags to rain coats and you can find them ALL at Children Salon.

Burberry Baby Snowsuit - Fancy!

Oh yes, I'm so going there. I'm posting about a snowsuit on the last day of August. Why not get crazy... it is Friday, tomorrow starts a new month, and I am headed to Chicago for a weekend of awesomeness. And let's face it, winter will be here before we know it. Normally I think that shiny snowsuits somewhat resemble Hefty bags:

Come on, it's a little uncanny isn't it? But... now I'm going to be a hypocrite. I love this one from Burberry. Something about the combination of the dark, shiny material paired with the softness of the check lining and faux fur works for me. Or maybe it's just because it's Burberry, but who can say? The hood is detachable and the entire thing is machine washable; the only downside in my opinion is that there are no detachable mittens or booties. Half of the sizes are already out of stock, so get yours while you can for $335.00 at Children Salon.

Catimini Winter 2012: A Sneak Peak

So while I am finally ready to welcome the idea of fall (not actual fall, just the idea of it), there is no way that it's time to think about winter. The Christmas season - my favorite time of year. Everything else about winter - ie ice scrapers, snow driving, dark at 5:00... not my cup of tea. That being said, these items from Catimini's winter 2012 line were too adorable to not share. We will call it "getting our feet wet," so maybe when actual winter arrives it will not be such a shock. Find all of these at Children Salon.

Gucci Baby Waterproof Bomber

Thinking of spring rain does not really appeal to me right now, since we have been having winter rain for, oh, two months now? The sun is shining bright today though and it was awesome to be able to walk to the store this afternoon. I was browsing Bergdorf Goodman earlier and came across this adorable rain jacket from Gucci (and about 1000 other adorable things). I'm loving the all-over GG print but my absolute favorite thing is that ruffled mandarin collar. The little details are what it's all about! And for those special little details, and the Gucci name, you must pay $325.00 to make this yours.

Keep Warm In A Fendi Baby Nest

Sooo... my apologies for being so awful about posting lately! The holiday season is busy enough as it is, but it is also the busiest time of year for my day job (medical field... deductible December...) AND this year is even  busier because I am knee-deep in trying to start my own business. I'm hoping for big things in 2012, and I will achieve them.

That being said, let's talk about warm, soft, cuddly things. It seems like everyone is sick lately. There have been some raunchy jokes circulating around my workplace due to the fact that the same sickness is traveling around to everyone. All we want to do is curl up on the couch with a fleece blanket and NetFlix for the next two weeks. Too bad they don't make Fendi baby nests for adults. New in for the chilly season, this 95% cotton nest comes in both blue and pink and brandishes an all-over tiny-sized Zucca pattern. They are simply adorable, with three poppers on each side for easy wrapping and unwrapping. The perfect thing to take a new baby home from the hospital in, find yours for $230.00 at Children Salon.

Catimini Winter 2011-2012 Coats!

Catimini never fails to impress with their unique styles and bold colors... any of these winter jackets would be head-turners. Find them all at Children Salon!

A Wild Snowsuit from Burberry Baby

Well, nothing says "good morning" like an in-your-face gold snowsuit! Imagine how this thing would look against a backdrop of actual snow! Call me crazy, but I am sort of digging it! An uncharacteristically wild number from Burberry, this snowsuit is polyester-filled and has detachable everything... and thanks to the shininess the pieces and parts are probably hard to lose track of! This one is going to be hard to top. Find it for $425.00 at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Juicy Couture Faux Fur Boots

Well this certainly is a lot of pink fur, which under normal circumstances would make me run screaming for the hills. But yet again, Juicy Couture is making me feel like a flip-flopper because I actually really like these boots. Granted, the faux fur up around the ankles is a bit Snooki-esque, but the "babies can get away with anything" rule comes into play here, turning these into an instant girly hit. The ribbon with the gold Juicy logo on it is just perfect. Find these for $68.00 at Bloomingdales.

Catimini Pink Knitted Coat

I will not turn on the heat, I will not turn on the heat, I will not turn on the heat... Not only because I am stubborn, but also because I do not care for the way the heat makes you house smell like it's about to burn down the first time you turn it on since the year before. Gross. I need a warm coat like this one from Catimini. It makes me smile because the knit pattern reminds me of a funky rendition of Fairisle: a perfectly Catimini twist on one of this coming season's most popular trends. Fleece lining will be sure to keep your little one warm while making a fun statement at the same time. Find this for $100.00 at Alex and Alexa.

Armani Baby Wool Mittens

You know what is a strange situation? When the kids you have babysat for for about nine years suddenly become too old for a babysitter. I watched the same two kids all throughout college and continued to do so in the years that followed. Over the past year or so, I went from seeing them once a week to once every couple of weeks as their daughter started staying home alone and/or watching their younger son. Then every couple of weeks turned into once a month. Then I stopped hearing from them. I got a surprise text last week saying they needed someone for tonight and I was overjoyed. Those kids are like my family. I was only there for three hours but it was like old times, except Sean was telling me about his new email address (he sends his friends emails with subject lines like "Robots!" and "Machines!" because he loves how those things then show up in his gmail ads) and Rebecca was writing a paper on her laptop provided for her by her school. Times have changed, all around. I don't know why I am feeling so sad about it. Maybe because when I left their house, all I could think about is if I'll see them again, when for so many years it was, "See you next Saturday." Blah. I think I just have the blues today after a bad day at work and will stop rambling.

ANYWAY, in honor of the days of trying to stuff his little hands into mittens so we could sled down the genius hill in their back yard, here we have a cute pair of wool mittens from Armani. I'm loving the wraparound logo (on the mitten where the stripes do not form the actual logo, there is a patch that reads "Armani Junior... just in case that is the mitten that gets lost, it can still be identified as Armani without it's mate). Buy these for the little guy in your life, for $53.00 at Children Salon.

Fendi Baby Suede Zucca Boots

Oh Fendi. I thought I was impressed by your spring and summer collections when they rolled out first season. I thought that nothing could top the frilly dresses, sea creature-themed swimwear, and that ditzy flower pattern that I fell oh so in love with. Then, I saw your autumn and winter 2011 collection. Pieces and pieces keep coming out and with every new shoe or dress, I am starting to feel like this season is somehow outdoing last season! Take these brown suede boots. They are perfect. The combination of the dark suede with the lighter fleece, the open side with the buckle that give them an almost rugged feel, and that chic designer touch with the Zucca print on the toes. Everything about them is just to-die-for... including the heart attack-inducing price tag: $211.00, found at Children Salon.

Juicy Couture Hooded Puffer Jacket

Man... other than the Fairisle print that I am seeing everywhere, I am suddenly noticing that leopard print is having a much stronger presence than usual. I know the whole animal print thing was huge the last couple of years, but apparently it is still going strong! For adults, I never got into it. For babies, it works in a different way. This leopard print puffer jacket from Juicy Couture is an example of making it work. It has naturally colored leopard print and not some sort of horrifying neon purple or green. Then to add a girly touch, there are little bows at the wrists and pink material lining the jacket. Tasteful and adorable. Find this for $158.00 at Nordstrom.

Gucci Embossed Fedora

It's 6:45am. You ever have those mornings where you just instantly wake up, pop out of bed, and are just ready to tackle the day? Yeah... I don't have those mornings. It takes hitting the snooze button an average of three times, then after actually getting out of bed, and average of three cups of coffee and a shower before I start to feel like a functioning human being. Hopefully in my next life I will be a morning person, because I have always been insanely jealous of them. It just seems like life would be so much easier. Perhaps in my next life I will also be stick-thin, mega rich, and timelessly beautiful... Anyway, here we have an expensive Gucci fedora for your little fashionista. I think the only time I have ever seen a small child in a fedora would be in celebrity baby pictures. They are one of life's little luxuries that not everyone can be a part of. Covered with the Gucci logo, any child to have this as part of their autumn wardrobe was certainly born very lucky... because it costs a whopping $135.00. Find it at Neiman Marcus.

Roberto Cavalli Baby Girls Quilted Coat

Call me crazy, but the quilted coat reminds me more of Burberry or D&G rather than Roberto Cavalli... Cavalli usually has more wild patterns and styles (this: love of leopard) so this is a pretty tame and traditional style for them... and I am loving it. It's good to break patterns and stray from your comfort zone from time to time. Or, all the time. The bottom has an adorable pleated bubble shape to keep your baby's booty warm and a little logo charm at the waist ads that designer twist that we all go so crazy over. This one will cost you though... $280.00 at Children Salon.

Monnalisa Leopard Print Snowsuit...

Oh boy... I don't want to get myself into trouble with what I am about to say here, but... Monnalisa, NOOOOOO!!! I don't know if it is the pink faux fur around the hood, or the belt, or the pink leopard print in general, but I am just not loving this season's girl's snowsuit. This is hard for me to say, because Monnalisa is one of my favorite names; I would pick it over many of the mega-designers any day. But this snowsuit is just a bit... tacky. I love the little pink bows around the ankles, wrists, and neck, but it pretty much ends there. Booties, mittens, and hood are all detachable which is a plus, but I am still left in the negative with this one. Sorry Monnalisa, but don't worry, I still love you. See more details of this $305.00 creation at Children Salon.

Roberto Cavalli Pink Peony Satin & Velvet Coat

I feel almost silly posting on a day like today, the 10th anniversary of September 11. However, I do believe while it is important to always remember, it is also important to go forward, because halting life and thinking nothing will ever be the same is exactly what the people who did this would want. My best friend's birthday is today, and it is something she has struggled with since this day ten years ago. She felt guilty celebrating, and she still feels very tired of hearing people say "Ooooh, that sucks" when she tells them the date of her birthday. It's just another day, but at the same time, it will never be just another day. Strange to think about, and hard to believe it has been ten years. So with the idea of progression and moving forward, let's move to this... elaborate coat from Roberto Cavalli. Adorned with this season's peony print, this coat has a lot of busyness to it: huge buttons, bubble waist, bubble collar, satin, velour... it's honestly a bit too much for me. If you disagree and love the unique wildness that this jacket packs, it can be yours for a large sum of $370.00, from Children Salon.

Fendi Baby Zucca Snowsuit

Holy lord. This may be the most expensive designer baby snowsuit I have seen yet, AND the first snowsuit I have seen from Fendi's baby collection. Figures that it is the most expensive. Covered the the ever-famous Zucca print, this down-filled snowsuit has a detachable fur hood and also detachable mittens and booties. Oh, and it is also the most gorgeous brown color that would work for either girls or boys. Ready for the price? A giant $689.00, found at Children Salon.

North Face Oso Infant Hoodie

Okay, let's talk about North Face jackets for a moment. To this day, I do not know if this was the case for every college campus, but at THE Ohio State University (my alma matter) back in the very early 2000's, North Face jackets were everywhere: girls, guys, freshman, seniors, vests, hoodies... you name it. It was almost a running joke on the campus. If you were in thus and such sorority, you had to have a North Face jacket (most of "those girls" had the pink ones). If you were in thus and such fraternity, you had to have an all-black North Face jacket. It has pretty much ruined them for me. Even though the idea of a non-bulky fleece jacket that will keep you warm in below-freezing temperatures sounds fabulous, they have just been ruined because of the fact that every single college snob wore one to class every single day. Boo. Now for babies... the "Babies Can Pull Anything Off" rule that I have has taken effect. A teeny tiny pink North Face jacket? Okay. Love it. It's like baby Ugg boots. Awful for adults, amazing on babies. This fleece jacket will keep your little one warm and still allow her to lower her arms to her sides. Find it for just $65.00 at Nordstrom.

Little Marc Jacobs Knit Animal Scarf

Well I do not think I have ever seen any knitwear like scarves or hats from Little Marc Jacobs until now. Perhaps I have just been overlooking them because this is not traditionally one of my favorite lines (I understand that he is going for the quirky and strange, which normally I am all about, but for some reason, most of the baby things just don't do it for me) but I must say I do love this scarf. It has a bit of a funny shape because it is knit to stay in place (as scarves on babies normally do not) and I like the traditional pattern mixed with some random animals. There is even some gold thread woven in there to give it some flair. Be ready for winter and grab yours for $57.00 at Children Salon.

Kenzo Baby Pre-Walker Boots

As if coming back from a four day weekend isn't hard enough as it is, my four day weekend was with my best friend in Chicago (visiting the Nordstrom on the Miracle Mile - amazing.), and we woke up with colds yesterday. AND I spent way too much money. AND on top of that, I accidentally made my car payment twice this month AND Sirius XM randomly charged me $157.00 for lord knows what because I pay for my XM radio on a monthly basis. Sometimes I think days like this are a kind of a test. Most people act dramatic, lament about how it can only get worse, and post a woeful Facebook status about how awful their day is, yearning for those "Hang in there!" comments. I decided to turn it around by donating some old items to charity and ordering extra spicy boneless buffalo wings for dinner (my favorite). Remember, no matter what happens, you can always turn it around if you just try. SO, back to these adorable pre-walker boots from Kenzo. I find them interesting because the pale pink corduroy and floral pattern look like something you'd see on a spring dress, yet they are on fur-lined boots meant for snowy days. The little rainbow ribbon trim even ties into a bow in the back. Maybe these boots are another reminder to "turn it around," and that even at the end of the nastiest of winters there is always a beautiful spring. Wow I can be cheesy. Find these little cuties for $46.00 at Children Salon.
