Tartan Bibs by Ralph Lauren

Ahh... a conundrum we have here. Traditionally, I am not a huge fan of Ralph Lauren's baby collection. It's not that I dislike what they do, it just doesn't do much for me. But now they had to go and make a three piece bib gift set with tartan. I LOVE TARTAN. You with this round, Ralph Lauren; I think these are fabulous. Even with the tartan and dark colors, in my opinion these would be perfect for both the gentlemen and the ladies. And, with dark colors, less showing of stains! What more could you ask for? Find this perfect Christmas gift (oh yes I just went there) at Children Salon.

Fall Accessories from Neiman Marcus

Okay okay, I am finally warming up to the idea of fall being around the corner. The end of summer is weird isn't it? You feel ready for sweatshirts and leaves on the ground and football, but feel sad to leave behind sunny days by the pool and daylight until 10pm. This fall is special for me, as my last day at my at my day job is September 7. But I have already been ranting enough about that. So here we have a handful of pretty autumn things. On top, a very expensive ($290.00) baby changing pad by Gucci, a fair isle blanket set by Ralph Lauren (is it not the sweetest thing you have ever seen) and ribbed tights by Tartine et Chocolat. Note the little rhinestone butterfly on the ankle. Okay fall, I'm ready to accept your entrance. Find all of these at Neiman Marcus.

Ralph Lauren Baby Gift Set

Okay... I am really hit or miss about Ralph Lauren's baby collection... but this is just so aborable! I am actually having a hard time not typing something totally cheesy like, "They hit a home run with this!" Thank goodness for pride. Anyway, this precious three piece gift set comes with a teddy bear rattle, booties, and a hat that is actually reversible: one side is comfy quilted and the other has a teddy bear pattern. The booties are also quilted and have lace and ruffle embellishments. And an added bonus: everything comes in a branded gift box. Have a special baby girl in mind that could use this set? Get it for $83.00 at Children Salon.

Hmm... An Interesting Dress from Ralph Lauren.

Well this is certainly... unique. It is a dress with... a lot going on. And... a barnyard scene. It seems as though Ralph Lauren is taking a few steps gigantic jumps away from their traditional "preppy" style to something a little more... weird. A cotton-cashmere blend, the bodice of this dress is knit with a landscape full of animals; the three tiers are each knit with a different pattern. Puff sleeves and a ruffle collar finish off the "country-girl" meets "a-pillow-you'd-find-on-your-grandparents-couch" feel of the dress. Sorry Ralph, I'm not a big fan of this one. Find it for $125.00 at Neiman Marcus.

Ralph Lauren Baby Sundress

Ralph Lauren is an anomaly to me. The brand seems to be popular with just about everyone (that is a pretty big generalization, but still.), including my mother who has impeccable taste, but I have never been super impressed in general. Every now and they I will see something that really strikes me (everything I have written about on here Ralph Lauren-wise, that was the case), and this little sundress is one of those things. What's not to love about a small print floral pattern dress? It's light and fun and the red trim adds the necessary extra flair. Striped polos with embroidered horses? No thank you, not for me. Sundresses without the logo splattered across the front? Okay in my book. See this for a very reasonable $45.00 at Neiman Marcus.

Ralph Lauren Infant's Cable Coverall

In a world of over-the-top, sometimes it's nice to see something clean and simple. Knit with soft cotton, this coverall has numerous subtleties like the drawstring waist, Peter Pan collar, and button up legs. Ralph Lauren also makes matching booties, a blanket, and a hat, so giving the whole set as a gift would be a definite option. If you can afford it that is, because the coverall alone is $85.00, found at saksfifthavenue.com.

Ralph Lauren Crochet Cardigan and Blanket

Now this is just precious. A perfect baby gift, this Ralph Lauren cardigan and blanket set is dainty and feminine. I am just loving the ruffle trim around the bottom of the cardigan. The blanket can be purchased for 125.00, and the cardigan for $65.00, at neimanmarcus.com.

Ralph Lauren Striped Cotton Mittens

What is it about baby mittens that makes people want to faint over the cuteness? They are so tiny, a baby's little hands look precious all bundled up in mittens. These Ralph Lauren mittens caught my eye right away, I even have to admit that the polo horse looks cute on them too. For $30.00, they can be purchased at www.ralphlauren.com.

Ralph Lauren Skull and Bones Slipper

My thoughts about slippers are similar to my thoughts on bathrobes... don't really get the concept. Maybe it's because I am a bare feet person, even in the winter. The thought of sleeping in socks makes me cringe, like I nearly get a physical reaction imagining it.

I guess the same does not go for babies, whose feet need to be kept warm. Therefore, I can get the concept of baby slippers. And even as an adult, I still enjoy items adorned with skulls. It's just fun. My favorite part about these black velvet slippers is the red satin lining. They are very posh, like they should go with a little smoking jacket and fake pipe, to be worn in a room full of leather-bound books.

In any case, these Ralph Lauren slippers can be purchased for $40.00 at www.ralphlauren.com.
