Big News and Fall Approaches!

Umm so once again, Designer Baby disappeared off the radar for a while. The reason is something that I find to be pants-wetting exciting, but does not involve some great magical mystery.

I quit my day job. I did. Finally. I put in my notice on Monday, and believe my boss thought I was having a stroke. I walked into his office, said I needed to talk, sat down, and no words came out. Then tears came out. Lots and lots of tears. Typical chick move! But I did it, gave a month notice. Four weeks from now I am going to be HOME FREE.

Here is my small soapbox speech: if you are not happy with something in your life, change it. You choose nearly everything you do and you absolutely choose everything you feel. Yes, hard times and tragedies cannot be avoided, but you choose how to react to them, how to deal with them. This life is so precious and so beautiful, and every single person deserves to be happy every single day.

Now, onto the good stuff. Since I have been so preoccupied with quitting and figuring out everything surrounding that, I have barely kept up on the new clothes coming out for fall. Just did some browsing and WOW have I been missing out. Now there's a treasure trove of things begging to be talked about. First up, this tartan dress by Fendi:

Maybe my Scottish roots have something to do with this, but tartan makes me go crazy. I think I wore the same tartan skirt to church every Christmas when I was younger for like four years in a row. It can be so versatile. Like this dress... you could do white tights, you could go super-sleek and do black tights, then a fur jacket? A black bolero? Or how about a white cardigan? It's fantastic to have so many options, especially if you are someone like me who gets bored easily. Oh, and how about the little bow below the peter pan collar? It has the Zucca print pattern on it. Thank you Fendi for being consistently awesome. Find this dress (and some accessories too!) for $262.00 at Children Salon.

New Expensive Baby Things from Fendi!

Many of us love indulgences right? Guilty pleasures? That's why we love to hear about how much money celebrities spend on engagement rings, vacations, birthday parties for their children, custom steering wheel covers... It's disgusting yet somehow fascinating at the same time. I will not get into the politics of how the money spent on a $2000.00 steering wheel cover could be used to provide water for children in impoverished countries.... Aaaaanyway, I love Fendi. I cannot lie, I do. Every season when their new clothing emerges onto their site (they arrange by outfit, shoes included, so you can get the whole look), I swoon. I love high fashion. Will I ever have a baby that wears Fendi? Probably not. Do I appreciate the you-know-what out of it? Absolutely. Take this baby carrier and stroller for example. Gorgeous. A stunning dark navy blue with Zucca print accents? Yes please. Talk about indulgences... the baby carrier costs $369.00 while the stroller costs a whopping $1098.00!! Could you imagine? I cannot, yet I fantasize often. Find both at Children Salon.

Hello Expensive Fendi Baby Dress!

Okay first of all, happy best part of Friday to my fellow M-F 9-5ers!! How great does it feel on an early Friday evening when you have the entire weekend in front of you? And when it is a beautiful evening (in the midwest it is anyway) AND the first weekend of summer? Bliss. What a magical evening. Aaaanyway, let's go over the top right now and talk about this new dress from Fendi's baby collection. Talk about classic: soft satin with a Peter Pan collar and organza overlay with simplistic flower embroidery. It's beautiful... although despite the color it honestly reminds me more of a holiday dress. IE pair it with black tights and shoes, add a black bolero or cardigan, and voila: instant hit. But I suppose at the same time you can add some cream colored open toed sandals and have a sweet summer look as well. Oh, and the price? How about $356.00, at Children Salon.

Fendi Rocks the Red

Happy Hump Day to all! I am not so much looking forward to this work day... scary regional boss guy is going to be stopping by. Everyone gets all weird around scary regional boss guy. I wonder what he would say if he came in and saw me busily blogging away on company time. Whatever. I'm winning the lottery tonight anyway. So this season, Fendi is adding some red to their designs and I am absolutely in love. The little details on this shortie are so sweet; I had to add the back view so you can see the logo print on the hood and legs. Even the red buttons say Fendi on them. Perhaps this will be my first purchase with my lottery winnings; I have a very pregnant cousin with a wicked fashion sense who'd love it. Find this for a whopping $203.00 at Children Salon.

A Beautiful White Dress from Fendi

Why does it seem like the spring and summer collections come out earlier and earlier every year? Okay, so I am already over the cold weather. But isn't everyone after the holidays? But am I ready to think bathing suits and sun dresses? No way. I am still flabby, pale, and multiple lbs away from my goal weight. And besides all that, we still have like three months of winter. Seeing spring collections at this point is just depressing, because it is still so far away. So why not be a total hypocrite and talk about this beautiful, breezy, springy dress from Fendi? I can't ignore it; it's a classic. A-line. White cotton. Zucca print. It is simple and beautiful and timeless and everything I could ever expect from Fendi. I'm ready for spring. I'm not encouraging global warming, but I'd be okay with keeping this strange pseudo-winter going. Think spring and find this dress for $245.00 at Children Salon.

Keep Warm In A Fendi Baby Nest

Sooo... my apologies for being so awful about posting lately! The holiday season is busy enough as it is, but it is also the busiest time of year for my day job (medical field... deductible December...) AND this year is even  busier because I am knee-deep in trying to start my own business. I'm hoping for big things in 2012, and I will achieve them.

That being said, let's talk about warm, soft, cuddly things. It seems like everyone is sick lately. There have been some raunchy jokes circulating around my workplace due to the fact that the same sickness is traveling around to everyone. All we want to do is curl up on the couch with a fleece blanket and NetFlix for the next two weeks. Too bad they don't make Fendi baby nests for adults. New in for the chilly season, this 95% cotton nest comes in both blue and pink and brandishes an all-over tiny-sized Zucca pattern. They are simply adorable, with three poppers on each side for easy wrapping and unwrapping. The perfect thing to take a new baby home from the hospital in, find yours for $230.00 at Children Salon.

Fendi Baby Three Piece Gift Set with Zucca Print

Oh Fendi... you have my heart for so many reasons. One of the many: adorable gift sets like this one. The repeating baby pink Zucca pattern is the definition of designer babywear. All made from soft jersey cotton, this set comes with a onesie with cute bubble sleeves, a bib with Zucca print trim, and a perfect little hat that will cover your little one's ears to keep them warm. Who wouldn't love opening this on Christmas day? Find yours for $170.00 at Children Salon.

Fendi Boys Ivory Romper

Aww... I love when Fendi goes traditional comfy babywear. It's not every day you see a $240.00 cotton romper, but that is exactly what you are laying eyes on right now. It seems casual enough: warm fleece lining, grey jersey cuffs and hood lining, and just enough Zucca print trim. And that is where the magic lies. I wonder how many lucky little guys will have one of these wrapped up under the Christmas tree this year. Find it at Children Salon.

Fendi Baby Suede Zucca Boots

Oh Fendi. I thought I was impressed by your spring and summer collections when they rolled out first season. I thought that nothing could top the frilly dresses, sea creature-themed swimwear, and that ditzy flower pattern that I fell oh so in love with. Then, I saw your autumn and winter 2011 collection. Pieces and pieces keep coming out and with every new shoe or dress, I am starting to feel like this season is somehow outdoing last season! Take these brown suede boots. They are perfect. The combination of the dark suede with the lighter fleece, the open side with the buckle that give them an almost rugged feel, and that chic designer touch with the Zucca print on the toes. Everything about them is just to-die-for... including the heart attack-inducing price tag: $211.00, found at Children Salon.

Fendi Baby Mary Janes!

Happy Saturday everyone! I had one of those mornings where I woke up (technically my kitten woke me up by attacking my feet through the covers, because heaven forbid I have to flip over while sleeping) I had that panicked feeling that I was late for work. Then, I realized it was Saturday. And even better, that tomorrow is Sunday and I don't have to wake up for work then either. I probably spend a little too much time being bitter about work... working on changing that. SO, here we have the most adorable pair of Fendi mary janes, which upon viewing became my favorite pair of Fendi baby shoes I have ever seen. Black velvet with Zucca print toes, these will be sure to impress anyone who is familiar with this famous logo. Find them for $199.00 at Lavish Kids.

Fendi Baby Cream Tracksuit

This is adorable and I love everything about it. It is hard for me to even elaborate, because if I were to list the things I loved, it would be just stating the obvious and existing things that make up this Fendi tracksuit: the color, the collar, the heart, the pockets, the Zucca trim. It is beautiful and simple at the same time, elegant and casual, traditional and modern. The only thing that people may have a bit of an issue with is the price: a ginormous $355.00, found at joseph M

Fendi Baby Zucca Snowsuit

Holy lord. This may be the most expensive designer baby snowsuit I have seen yet, AND the first snowsuit I have seen from Fendi's baby collection. Figures that it is the most expensive. Covered the the ever-famous Zucca print, this down-filled snowsuit has a detachable fur hood and also detachable mittens and booties. Oh, and it is also the most gorgeous brown color that would work for either girls or boys. Ready for the price? A giant $689.00, found at Children Salon.

Fendi Baby Zucca Cashmere Blanket

Kind of almost speechless about this one. We all know Fendi is a big name, and with a big names naturally come big prices. So here we have a Fendi baby blanket, made with a cashmere/virgin wool blend, with the all-over Zucca print. It comes with a storage bag (not pictured, because it is ugly and I'm not sure who would ever even use it) and is 36 1/2" x 52". What do you get when you combine all of these elements? How about a $447.00 blanket. No, I am not kidding. Not gonna lie... some designer baby blankets just look luxurious and expensive but this one... I just don't find it to be that cute. At all. I know many will disagree though, so if this is up your alley you can find it at Children Salon.

I Found A Fendi Baby Bottle.

Okay... other than kind of a fun novelty gift so you can shock one of your girlfriends by how much you splurged on them, why would anyone really need a Fendi baby bottle? For the purposes of taking it out into public and proudly whipping it out on a park bench so passers-by can whisper "Was that a..." after they quickly walk past? Probably. But isn't that really the purpose of any logo-covered designer item? It's all about the display, and I am guessing this bottle would fair very well in the shock value category. It's kind of fun, but really? At least it comes with that cute little carrying case. For $129.00, get yours at Alex and Alexa.

Fendi Baby Zucca Prewalker Shoes

Well, we have made it to Wednesday: the day that hope starts to creep back in. Because after today is Thursday, and Thursday is great because you know the next day is Friday. And Friday is just Friday. I really need to stop viewing days like this and enjoy all of them for what they have to offer. Anyway, the new shoes for the fall season keep rolling in and thus far, I am pleased as punch (what does that expression even mean) at what I see. One of my new favorites are these Fendi prewalker shoes with the Zucca print. The toes and heels are gray tweed and there is a little leather bow in the back. Perfectly Fendi and perfectly precious. Find them for $158.00 at Children Salon.

Fendi Baby Tweed Dress

Good lord. I knew this was going to happen, but the snowsuits are already out at Saks Fifth Avenue. I have barely started working on my tan yet and the stores are already making me think about shoveling and car-scraping. Alas, we still have at least four good months. I am counting September and October because I love fall. So this dress makes me think fall. It makes me think of school and crisp air and crunchy leaves. It may be one of the cutest dresses I have seen to date. Leave it to Fendi; I am not surprised. The Fendi logo runs along the neck, on the bows, and within the pleats of the dress. Be it known though that the onesie underneath is not included. That costs $174.00 while the dress itself costs an impressive $330.00. Yeah... I would have to split that one out among a couple of different credit cards, but if it's in your budget, get to Saks!

Fendi Baby Sea Creatures Sun Dress

So I am pretty much in love with this pattern. I fell in love with it when I first saw the tiny, ruffly white bathing suits with the mixture of sea creatures and the Fendi logo, and now we have an entire dress. Perfectly whimsical and girly, this dress also is embellished with ruffles and has off the shoulder sleeves with tie up straps. Come on, could it be any cuter? I don't think so. Now the question is, what kind of shoes to pair with this... See this whopping $182.00 sun dress, and more of Fendi's sweet summer collection, at Children Salon.
