Gucci High-Tops!

Truthfully speaking, I never thought high-tops would come back. I remember my favorite outfit when I was little: Reebok high-tops, jean shorts (knee-length, rolled cuffs), aand a white t-shirt with a green waist-tied shirt over the top of it. Oh, and a side ponytail. Cannot forget the side ponytail. The 80s and early 90s were a very strange time fashion-wise, but apparently some elements were a good enough idea to bring back. Fashion is fascinating because it is very circular. If something was once a trend and that trend dies, it will come back in good time. So high-tops. Not the most comfortable shoe, and not something that will ever be fashionable on adults ever again in my opinion, but pretty adorable for babies (example 334324523 of the "Babies Can Pull Off Anything Rule"). From Gucci, these Coda high-top sneakers are made from soft pink leather with durable rubber soles and sweet pink laces. Find them for a nominal cost of $235.00 at Neiman Marcus.

Fall Accessories from Neiman Marcus

Okay okay, I am finally warming up to the idea of fall being around the corner. The end of summer is weird isn't it? You feel ready for sweatshirts and leaves on the ground and football, but feel sad to leave behind sunny days by the pool and daylight until 10pm. This fall is special for me, as my last day at my at my day job is September 7. But I have already been ranting enough about that. So here we have a handful of pretty autumn things. On top, a very expensive ($290.00) baby changing pad by Gucci, a fair isle blanket set by Ralph Lauren (is it not the sweetest thing you have ever seen) and ribbed tights by Tartine et Chocolat. Note the little rhinestone butterfly on the ankle. Okay fall, I'm ready to accept your entrance. Find all of these at Neiman Marcus.

Very Expensive Onesies.

Oooooh what it would be like to have disposable money. Sometimes it is difficult to read about celebrities who spend five figures on one piece of clothing while sometimes I find myself eating Hot Pockets for dinner because they were on sale two for $3 at the grocery store. Oh well. Again, I feel like if I could always afford to buy everything, I would probably get bored and not appreciate things as much as I do now. That being said, how about $250.00 onesies? The pretty top one is a soft cashmere from Burberry, classically adorable with pearly button closures. The bottom belted onesie is from Gucci, complete with a peter pan collar and little embroidered teddy bear on the chest. That one is actually a bit more pricey, at $265.00. I can understand the price tag (kind of) on the cashmere one, but that much for a cotton onesie?? Madness. It is pretty cute though. Find both at Saks!

A Fabulous Orange Gucci Baby Bag

Wow, I am dragging this morning. After a cup of coffee before leaving for work and a Red Bull on my way to work (please do not judge my inappropriate love for caffeine), I find myself contemplating another cup of coffee. So what says, "Wake up! Good morning!" better than a shockingly orange Gucci baby bag? A world apart from Gucci's usual tan bags, I am absolutely in love with the brightness and impressive size of this bag. I mean you could probably fit your actual baby in it. Don't do that though. Pluses: made of Nylon so it's easy to wipe off and clean, includes another storage bag inside, the straps attach right to your stroller, and of course that recognizable GG pattern covers the entire bag. Minuses: just one really: the price. A nominal $635.00. Definitely not your ordinary bag. If you've got the bucks to spend, find yours at Neiman Marcus.

New Bibs from Gucci baby!

Ahh Gucci... the king of expensive baby items. From little rain coats to boots to fedoras and yes, even bibs. Saks has these three right now, new for spring 2012. I must say, I am loving the little birdie one! Typically, Gucci goes for the traditional GG print when it comes to its baby accessories (bibs, hats, bottle covers...) and it makes me happy to see that they are exploring more baby-esque themes. And days of the week Gucci bibs? Yes please! Could you imagine opening something like that as a gift and not squealing, "How much did you pay for these?!" So on that note, get ready for the prices. Gucci birdie bib: $195.00. Logo print bib: $120.00. Days of the week bibs: $355.00. Get the credit card ready!

New From Gucci Baby!

What I love most about these dresses from Gucci: they are all different colors, different styles, different materials, yet all of them have that classic Gucci look. I think my favorite of these would have to be the denim ruffles because that belt is just fabulous. Now all we need is some warm weather to wear these things in! I mean it is almost February; we can say we are on the upswing now right? Find all of these at the always-fabulous Bergdorf Goodman.

Gucci Baby Waterproof Bomber

Thinking of spring rain does not really appeal to me right now, since we have been having winter rain for, oh, two months now? The sun is shining bright today though and it was awesome to be able to walk to the store this afternoon. I was browsing Bergdorf Goodman earlier and came across this adorable rain jacket from Gucci (and about 1000 other adorable things). I'm loving the all-over GG print but my absolute favorite thing is that ruffled mandarin collar. The little details are what it's all about! And for those special little details, and the Gucci name, you must pay $325.00 to make this yours.

Gucci Silk & Wool Baby Blanket

Well... here is the latest addition to the category of "Things That Just Look Expensive." Made from an uber-luxurious blend of silk and wool, this blanket has the Gucci crest (rather an updated version with a cute little bunny) on one side and blue and red stripes on the other. As I sit here in my condo freezing and not wanting to get ready for work, I would love to wrap up in this and crawl back into bed. And sleep until spring. Ready for the price tag on this baby? How about $546.00. Wow. Find it at Children Salon.

Gucci Heart Baby Blanket

Another Monday. It is weird to think that it's October... In the Midwest, September is usually an extension of summer. Indian summer. The warmth feels different, but it's still there. Yeah, not so much this year. This year, we had rain. Then more rain. Then just when you thought it was done, it would rain again. So good riddance September, this week's forecast is already a world's difference. So thinking of dreary cold, let's talk about this gorgeous and girly baby blanket from Gucci. Why knit someone a blanket when you can buy it from Gucci? Made of soft pink wool, the GG logo forms a heart in the center, which is a pretty genius twist. Imagine receiving (or giving) this at a baby shower. Talk about shock value. Oh, speaking of shock value, how about the price tag: $280.00, from Neiman Marcus.

A Perfect (ly Expensive) Holiday Outfit from Gucci Baby.

Oh my. I fell in love with this outfit as soon as I laid eyes on it. Actually, I think it was before I even saw the whole thing. I was flipping through the slides on Gucci's website and as soon as this entered the screen I think I gasped out loud. It's gorgeous. The colors. The classic forms. The plaid. The ballerina flats. It is the ultimate holiday outfit. And to have it you practically have to pay the ultimate price. Here is the breakdown:
1) Red cashmere and wool Montgomery jacket: $475.00
2) Sleeveless tartan pleated dress: $360.00
3) Poplin shirt with ruffles and GG heart plaque: $225.00
4) Charlotte ballerina flats with horsebit detail: $235.00
This brings us to a grand total of $1295.00. WOW. Speechless.

Gucci Embossed Fedora

It's 6:45am. You ever have those mornings where you just instantly wake up, pop out of bed, and are just ready to tackle the day? Yeah... I don't have those mornings. It takes hitting the snooze button an average of three times, then after actually getting out of bed, and average of three cups of coffee and a shower before I start to feel like a functioning human being. Hopefully in my next life I will be a morning person, because I have always been insanely jealous of them. It just seems like life would be so much easier. Perhaps in my next life I will also be stick-thin, mega rich, and timelessly beautiful... Anyway, here we have an expensive Gucci fedora for your little fashionista. I think the only time I have ever seen a small child in a fedora would be in celebrity baby pictures. They are one of life's little luxuries that not everyone can be a part of. Covered with the Gucci logo, any child to have this as part of their autumn wardrobe was certainly born very lucky... because it costs a whopping $135.00. Find it at Neiman Marcus.

Gucci Baby Polo Dress

Well... another Monday. I feel like this is a particularly gloomy Monday because there are no more long weekends to look forward to until Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving. Who can believe that the holiday season is right around the corner? I actually am quite excited for fall this year because I just purchased a new Nikon digital SLR camera and can't wait to take pictures of the changing leaves. But anyway, I digress. So here we have a new little polo dress from Gucci's expanding baby line. It has a traditional spread color and ruffled placket with a pleated A-line skirt. Pair with white tights and Mary Janes or no tights and a preppy sneaker, either way it's completely adorable. Find your own ways to accessorize this $245.00 dress at Neiman Marcus.

Gucci Baby Pajamas: A Fun Christmas Gift!

Oh I need to be stopped. You know how some people you know are "Christmas people?" They shop all year 'round, they listen to Christmas music from the moment it hits the radio stations until the moment it departs, they have not one but five Christmas trees, and it takes them multiple days to decorate their house, which usually happens immediately after Thanksgiving? Well, I am one of those obnoxious people. I love Christmas. Always have, always will. So how about a pair of Gucci pajamas to kick off your Christmas shopping? Gucci's baby line has really been expanding; I feel like it was just yesterday that they pretty much only had shoes. But how cute is this? Made from soft cotton, these jammies have a Peter Pan collar trimmed with satin and the words "My First Gucci" printed across the chest. Adorable. The catch? It costs $180.00. See more details at Neiman Marcus.

Gucci Blanca Baby Ballerina Shoes

Well these looks remarkably familiar... maybe because Baby Dior has almost the exact same pair? Except for the obvious difference: their's say "Dior" in rhinestones and not Gucci. Duh. But who cares? The ribbon-tie satin ballerina shoe is a classic, especially with a big designer name spelled out in tiny crystals across the top. Is this not the baby gift to end all baby gifts? I don't know if I would smack my friend or kiss her for giving me a pair of $165.00 baby shoes. That money could buy a lot of diapers! Ooooooor... one fabulous pair of shoes that you will want to show off as much as possible. Buy these for a friend, or for your own baby, from Neiman Marcus.

Gucci Mama's Bag

A red leather baby bag! How exciting is this? And just in time for fall and the holidays. This bag would look great over just about any outerwear: soft white, black leather, brown suede... the possibilities are endless. Who knew a red bag could be so versatile? Not all of them are, but something about this one just seems different. Branding the Gucci logo all over, this bag has a side pocket, three zip pockets and one open pocket inside, a changing pad, and a bottle holder. Better start saving your money while it's still summer, because this baby will cost you $990.00. Found at Neiman Marcus.

Gucci Rain Boots

I just don't know about rain boots for adults. Some patterns are fun, some are obnoxious... On certain days when it's pouring and I am running through the parking lot in my ballet flats trying to hold up my pants so the bottoms don't get soaked looking like a moron, I think "This is why people wear rain boots." Then I think back to preschool when we had to have these things called "rubber shoes" which I don't even know if they are made anymore but they were just black rubber slide-on shoes that went over your regular shoes to protect them from mud. Then I think back to the days that I was a preschool teacher and the cute little rain boots that kids came in wearing... I probably would die if I ever saw a child waltz in in these: Gucci logo rain boots. They come in either this cocoa color or pink and are most likely made of the finest Italian rubber. My next task will be seeing if there is a matching umbrella. For $145.00, you can buy a pair at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Guess the Price: A Complete Gucci Outfit.

Everything about this is just adorable: the girly-ness, the pink, the shoes, the classic denim, and especially the rain coat. All found at Neiman Marcus, the outrageous pricing is as follows:

Double-Breasted Raincoat: $430.00
Teddy Baby Tights: $90.00
Bamboo Bag Print Tee: $145.00
Demin Mini Skirt: $190.00
Coda Lace-Up Sneakers: $235.00

This brings us to a grand total of $1090.00 for ONE OUTFIT! It's almost breathtaking. And I would love to see what it looks like on a baby because I would probably fall over from the cuteness. Sigh...

Wow... Gucci Baby Carrier!

When I think of baby carriers I think of one of two things: 1) Those gigantor contraptions that 90% of the time you see a husband wearing and carrying because the thing itself weights a ton before you even put the baby in it and 2) The cloth swaddle ones that hipster moms use but have been attributed to a handful of suffocation-related deaths. This Gucci baby carrier defies my previous thoughts. It's sleek and stylish; it's a fashion statement. And how about that cute little bird on the pocket? The carrier itself is cloth bearing the Gucci logo with cream leather straps. Be aware that this is only for children between 7 lbs and 20 lbs. Kind of a small window for a $795.00 baby carrier, but come on, it's fun! Find this beauty at Neiman Marcus.

Hello Gucci Bibs!

Can I just complain about the heat one more time? Holy LORD, it's HOT! The sun has long since set here in the Midwest but it is still hovering around 90 degrees. Not okay. I am also on my eighth load of laundry. Not okay either. On a brighter note, there are only two days until the weekend. And on a brighter note than that, how amusing is it to see a huge name like Gucci on a bib?? If i ever saw a child in a restaurant wearing a Gucci bib, I might assume it's fake. Then again, I go to restaurants like Panera and Chipotle. One might be more likely to see a Gucci bib someplace a bit more... upscale. So these three bibs boast three versions of the Gucci logo. They are cotton and snap closed like any normal bib, but they are Gucci bibs. Therefore, the price tag for these three is a ginormous $150.00. $50.00 per bib! Amazing. Find them at Neiman Marcus.

Gucci Anna Lou Ballerina Booties

Posting is proving to be a bit difficult tonight due to my new kitten. She has two modes: psycho and sleep. Right now she has what I like to call "the zooms." If you have had a kitten you know what I mean. It is hilarious, until she pulls down the curtains in my office. Anyway. Must concentrate. I needed new curtains anyway. So Gucci has a bunch of new baby shoes out right now (you can see the collection at Saks Fifth Avenue) and they are naturally all above $200.00, even these little bootie-style shoes. They are very sweet and feminine, and actually look comfortable. Some of Gucci's baby shoes look torturous. They are not leather, just knit and fabric yet sell for an astonishing $220.00. Which reminds me, I need to check tonight's lottery numbers.
