Burberry Baby Snowsuit - Fancy!

Oh yes, I'm so going there. I'm posting about a snowsuit on the last day of August. Why not get crazy... it is Friday, tomorrow starts a new month, and I am headed to Chicago for a weekend of awesomeness. And let's face it, winter will be here before we know it. Normally I think that shiny snowsuits somewhat resemble Hefty bags:

Come on, it's a little uncanny isn't it? But... now I'm going to be a hypocrite. I love this one from Burberry. Something about the combination of the dark, shiny material paired with the softness of the check lining and faux fur works for me. Or maybe it's just because it's Burberry, but who can say? The hood is detachable and the entire thing is machine washable; the only downside in my opinion is that there are no detachable mittens or booties. Half of the sizes are already out of stock, so get yours while you can for $335.00 at Children Salon.

Very Expensive Onesies.

Oooooh what it would be like to have disposable money. Sometimes it is difficult to read about celebrities who spend five figures on one piece of clothing while sometimes I find myself eating Hot Pockets for dinner because they were on sale two for $3 at the grocery store. Oh well. Again, I feel like if I could always afford to buy everything, I would probably get bored and not appreciate things as much as I do now. That being said, how about $250.00 onesies? The pretty top one is a soft cashmere from Burberry, classically adorable with pearly button closures. The bottom belted onesie is from Gucci, complete with a peter pan collar and little embroidered teddy bear on the chest. That one is actually a bit more pricey, at $265.00. I can understand the price tag (kind of) on the cashmere one, but that much for a cotton onesie?? Madness. It is pretty cute though. Find both at Saks!

Burberry Baby Knit Booties

I randomly dreamed about frogs last night (I was chasing them and trying to catch them... what am I, 5?) so when I saw these cute little green booties, it seemed oddly fitting to talk about them. Hi, by the way. I know it's been a while. More on that later. So a little break from the normal for Burberry, these colorful booties (this shade is appropriately named "asparagus") are made of soft knit cotton and would be a fun addition to any outfit. Find them for just $60.00 at Saks.

It's Spring at Burberry!

Okay, so it wasn't so much feeling like spring in the Midwest today. In fact, I am sitting at work right now with my space heater on because it is so cold in here. Aaaaaand tonight we have a freeze warning. Oh well. One last cold day isn't too hateful. How about the huge amount of variety we are seeing from Burberry this spring? We have some knit cashmere, some new blue check, and tons of adorable cardigans. I am loving how you can even see the nova check on the cuff of the little jeans. There is so so much more where this came from, and you can find it all at Saks!

More Burberry Love!

I swear, there is no one who knows how to work a little traditional denim like Burberry does. It has a certain softness and this warm, all-American feel to it. Like I can see a toddler running through a field of daisies with lemonade in a sippy cup while wearing this dress. WOW. Can you tell I am ready for spring already? This time of year is always really exciting though, because who doesn't love seeing the spring and summer lines emerge? I have been particularly impressed with Burberry lately, and this dress is just another example of why. The pleats, ruffles, and sweet little sleeves show such a fantastic attention to detail. And nova check bloomers? Yes please. You can find this dress for a lucky little girl in your life for $142.00 at Children Salon.

Burberry Infant's Sophie Ballet Flats

Oh my goodness. These may be one of my favorite pairs of baby shoes to date. A weird choice, right? I guess their appeal to me lies in the fact that they remind me of the baby shoes that I used to put on my dolls when I was little. The shoes that used to be my own. They were impossibly huge on my "babies'" feet, but I could hardly imagine them ever fitting mine. That was a very special thing to me, that I had these shoes that were mine that I never remembered wearing, but had them, and had my own dolls to put them on. Ugh... what a strange thing to get sentimental about. I blame the wine I'm drinking. Aaaaaanyway, Burberry baby shoes: classic yet modern. The ultimate combo. The mary jane style paired with the ankle strap (Gucci uses the ankle strap a lot) paired with an oversize Burberry check bow on the toes? Love. Like a lot. Find these for $150.00 at Saks

Can you practically feel the soft leather of this bag just by looking at it? Another stunning not-your-average-baby-bag from Burberry, the Carolina pebble-grain leather tote is made of soft calf leather with Burberry's signature goldtone hardware. The chunky buckle straps on the handle are fantastic and this huge, deep bag zips closed so you won't lose your 90 lbs of baby accessories while you are out shopping for more. New Dress and Bloomers Sets from Burberry Baby

I have a confession to make. Before I started getting really into the amazing world of high-end baby clothes, I was not a Burberry believer. I associated Burberry with all of the snobby girls at my college... all of whom seemed to have the exact same Burberry scarf. Not bags, not boots, not jackets. Just the nova check scarf. My theory? It is all they could afford and the most recognizably Burberry item. I almost let these girls ruin Burberry for me. Almost. Then I started noticing that every season, there are new variations on the famous Burberry check. Check patterns are their thing: their signature thing that they totally rock yet can still always put a new twist on. Now, I look forward to seeing these new variations.

Hard to believe that spring styles are already emerging, but don't we feel that way every year? So let's dive into them with the newest dress and bloomers sets from Burberry baby. I must say, the white with purple and blue is so different from any of the other checks I have seen and I LOVE it. I picture someone with triplet girls, each one wearing one of these sets. Or one lucky girl who gets to own all three would also be nice. Which is your favorite? Find all of these (from top to bottom: $165.00, $175.00, $110.00) at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Burberry Baby Pink Silk Crepe Dress

Does this remind anyone of Baby Dior's watercolor silk dress from last year??? And I am not at all saying that as a bad thing; in no way do I think that Burberry copied Baby Dior. I think this is another prime example of how while it is exciting and cutting-edge to explore new styles and crazy stuff, it is equally as admirable to stick close to the classics: silk, soft feminine colors, subtle embellishments, and traditional form. If you can put a new spin on a classic that has always been admired, I think that can sometimes be more impressive than creating something completely new and wild. Maybe this is the after-Christmas exhaustion and too-much-Christmas-wine-detox talking, but tonight I am in a traditional mood and this dress is pleasing it. Find it for $155.00 at Children Salon.

Burberry Infant's Check Booties

It's official: the Midwest US is having a brown and gray Christmas this year. I don't think I have ever seen so much rain and dreariness. So, perhaps talking about some pretty Burberry baby shoes will help to brighten things up. Cotton check with soft leather trim, these make me smile because they remind me of the traditional baby shoes you see from back in the day: the awkward ones with the wide toe and high ankle for better support. A modern twist on a classic never hurt anyone! Find these for $115.00 at Saks Fifth Avenue.

A Wild Snowsuit from Burberry Baby

Well, nothing says "good morning" like an in-your-face gold snowsuit! Imagine how this thing would look against a backdrop of actual snow! Call me crazy, but I am sort of digging it! An uncharacteristically wild number from Burberry, this snowsuit is polyester-filled and has detachable everything... and thanks to the shininess the pieces and parts are probably hard to lose track of! This one is going to be hard to top. Find it for $425.00 at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Burberry Limited Edition Brown Silk Chiffon Dress

Burberry has a handful of limited edition dresses this season (don't know if this is a new thing or just something I have not picked up on from this line before?), and this brown silk chiffon number is so far the most expensive that I have seen. Made from a wispy, flowy silk chiffon, maybe it is the color that is spoiling the idea for me? It is a rich almost coppery brown, but something about it doesn't do it for me. I love the style, the detailing, the little cap sleeves... but that brown is just so... brown. I would love to see it in a shocking red, or a subtle cream, just not so much this. I'm sure many will disagree, and if you are one of them, this can be yours for a whopping $483.00, at Children Salon.

Burberry Quilted Hat

I just realized that I did not check my lottery numbers last night. Perhaps it was because I spent some time with a friend who I call "my talking friend." Because... she talks. Everyone has a girlfriend like that right? They tell you everything and anything. Last night I was trying to wedge my way out of her front door so I could get to my car and she was going on and on about the dreams she had had that week. Maybe I'm a millionaire and don't even know it. If I am, I will be buying this pricey Burberry quilted hat for a pregnant cousin. It's simple, tasteful, and functional, yet special because it has the Burberry logo on the band for everyone to see. All cotton, machine-washable, and this hat even comes in a cute little gift box. If you've got the big bucks, start your Christmas shopping early and find this $37.00 hat at Children Salon.

Burberry Jasper Overall

When some things come out, you know they are going to be an instant hit. The Burberry infant's Jasper overall would be one of those things. It comes in the soft blue pictured above, and also white and pink. It's simple enough: crewneck, cotton, snap legs. But it is so classically appealing, with the Burberry logo on the chest, that you just know people are going to go nuts for it. Give it as a gift: the entire gift or part of a themed gift basket, dress your baby in it as either pajamas or an outfit, use it in come simplistic yet sophisticated black and white baby pictures. It's just great. You can get all three colors, for $90.00 each, at Saks

Burberry Military Check Trousers

Well this is different! Every season, Burberry rolls out a new color scheme for their ever-popular check pattern that they are so well known for. A lot of the time they are pretty subtle: pastels, browns, purple and pink for the girls, blues for the boys. This season, Burberry has done something dramatic for the little ladies check: a military mix of greys and greens with hints of white and yellow. And I must say, I think it is amazing. These pleated trousers have an adjustable waist and offer a wide range of outfit possibilities: pair with all black, all white, be brave and try yellow? I am very excited to see the upcoming styles that feature this new tartan look! Find these pants for $110.00 at Children Salon.

Burberry Baby Cashmere & Wool Cable Knit Sweater

It's a mouthful, right? And it's just about as fancy as it sounds. A wool and cashmere blend, this sweater is cable knit in various patterns of braids and lines with a crew neckline and ribbed hemline. You know, all the stuff that makes a sweater a sweater. it even has two pockets so your little one can stash all of the things they are not supposed to have in them. In addition to the cream color, there is also a darker charcoal gray available. See more details of this $145.00 masterpiece at Burberry.com.

Burberry Infant's Check Snowsuit

Wow... as much as I am not ready to start thinking about snow, I must say... this season's snowsuits are AMAZING! The designer baby snowsuits are always interesting to see roll out, because it seems like the brands all try to outdo each other. Last year, the Dior Medallion snowsuit seemed to fly off the shelves the fastest. I don't know what will happen this year, but everything I see is just beautiful! Included in that idea is this check snowsuit from Burberry. Faux fur hood, gloves, booties... this is not only guaranteed to keep your baby warm but to keep them lookin' good while doing so. Love love love. See more details of this $350.00 snowsuit at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Burberry Baby Cotton Tee, Leggings, and Bib Set

Well this is something that stands apart from all of the other Burberry things out there: a comfy cotton outfit, embellished by plaid (naturally), and including a cute little bib. There is even a soft check pattern that is visible within the blue fabric of the shirt and pants. So an outfit so comfortable for your baby that is almost like pajamas, but is distinctively Burberry due to the plaid (but the trained eye could pick this out as Burberry regardless). It's the best of both worlds! For $175.00, see this at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Burberry Nova Check Dress and Leggings Set

With how many hundreds of times I have visited Children Salon's website, I somehow missed the fact that there is a section where you can buy entire outfits as a set. That is where I found this adorable nova check set from Burberry. It comes with three pieces: the dress, leggings, and gillet. The gillet makes me giggle a little bit because I am wondering the percentage of little girls who will have it on for 30 seconds before promptly removing it and refusing to wear it. Kids are so funny about clothes sometimes. Oh and the price? Just about as large as one would expect: $216.00.
