Okay let's face it: your bed only resembles the beds in department store adds sometimes. You buy the matching sheet set that goes with the comforter... but you know what? Sometimes those sheets need to be washed and sometimes you need to put a backup sheet set on your bed that DOESN'T match the comforter. Everyone does it! Who cares? Same with crib bedding, especially with crib bedding. Babies throw up. They drool. Their diapers overflow. You wash and wash and wash, even if there are no visible stains, you wash because of germs. So as your back up sheet set, why not leave that to Armani? That way, you don't have to feel so shameful about having sheets that don't match the bedding (why can I not stop thinking about the carpet/drapes situation...)! This three piece set includes a pillow case, mattress cover, and top sheet, and has that cute Armani pacifier pattern that is gracing their newest baby items. It is the perfect back up plan. For $180.00, get yours at Children Salon.

Silk Crib Bedding: It's As Expensive As It Sounds.
Sometimes thinking about the cost of furnishing and decorating a baby nursery baffles me. By the time they are three years old, they have outgrown the crib and most likely the theme as well. Yet people still go absolutely nuts over having the perfect nursery. I guess it's the meaning behind it: bringing your baby home to the most perfect room with everything he or she needs, something that was created just for them, as the first place they will ever call theirs. When you look at stores like celebrity favorite Petit Tresor, the baffledness (is that even a word) only increases. I recently read on Twitter that Tia Mowry met with Petit Tresor yesterday to plan her baby's nursery. I wonder if that planning included silk crib bedding like the above-pictured Lulla Smith Stella Silk Bedding. Perfectly feminine in cream and pink, accented with bows, just the bedding, never mind the crib, costs a whopping $1280.00. I cannot even imagine!

Serendipity Crib Bedding from TheTrendyBaby
I am forever on the lookout for crib bedding that is anything but pastel pink, blue and yellow, depicting typical things like ducks or bears or baby blocks. I like different, and this Serendipity crib bedding from thetrendybaby.com is one of my favorites thus far. It is bright and cheery and leaves a million options for accent colors to pull. I would probably skip the brown and green wall shown here and go for something crazy, like one of the reds or dark pinks. Cute cute cute, $504.00.

Pink Butterfly Crib Bedding from PoshTots
So as I have said many a-times, I am not a huge fan of overly girly over the top pink frou frou fluffy hearts princess girly baby room themes. Yes I am aware of how many adjectives I just used. But this crib bedding from poshtots.com is everything girl: pink and butterflies, without being nauseating. It's clean and plain, and might actually be cute if you threw another color into the mix. There is a bit of green in the stitching of the butterflies and dragonflies, so that could be fun to play with. And I do like butterflies, and I love that babies and children love butterflies. How much does it cost you ask? $1000.00. Wow.

Glenna Jean Central Park Crib Bedding
So.... confession: I do not know that much about crib bedding. I know that is seems a little more complicated than the bed-in-a-bag idea that you can see at Kohl's and Bed Bath and Beyond, it seems expensive no matter where you buy it, and it seems like there are an overwhelming amount of choices. What I have learned from poking around various boutiques' and specialty stores' websites is that these smaller places harbor the best crib bedding, and not stores like JC Penney. Sorry JC Penney... I used to have a great time making paper dolls out of the people in your catalog back in the 80's, but the world has moved on. In any case, thefrogandtheprincess.com has some of the best crib bedding I have seen around, like this Central Park Crib Bedding by family-run company Glenna Jean. This set costs $385.00, which is about the average for what they offer. Not too shabby!

Holy Expensive Crib Bedding.
I mean... crib bedding is expensive... but $2400.00 expensive? That is the price on the Alpine Baby Bedding from poshtots.com (that is not including three accent pillows, those add another $427.00). This is a five piece set that includes a bumper, coverlet, two-tiered crib skirt and sheer overlay, and fitted sheet. Intense. It looks absolutely gorgeous against the dark wood of the crib they are displaying it on, like something you would see in an old Victorian house. Lucky, lucky babies.

Round Cribs
It's pretty much a given that round cribs - like this - are expensive. They are just awesome... but totally more a show-off piece for the parents than a privilege for the baby. Babies can sleep on the hairy chests of their fathers. Or on the floor. They don't care; they don't need a round crib. So naturally if you can afford a round crib, you probably don't care about the price of specially made crib bedding, such as this Carmella Round Crib Bedding from 2littlemonkeys.com. For $950.00, this bedding says, "I belong in a fancy crib." I couldn't help but notice that there are even matching shades on the chandelier. Oh to be wealthy.

Cherry Blossom Crib Bedding
This is like a giant contradiction for me, because I am not a fan of pink pink pink all pink themes. I need variety. However, I am a huge fan of anything with cherry blossoms. This love trumps my general distaste for things excessively pink in this case, and I love this crib bedding from poshtots.com. Very sophisticated and original, you can't go wrong with a break from the ordinary. To purchase this bedding, minus all of the decorative pillows which of course cost more, you will need an extraordinary $1,200.00.

Ultimate Combo.
Aaaand in the left corner, we have the Rapunzel Chandelier. It is complete with nine arms capped with ivory silk shades, ornamented with exquisite crystal and flower detailing. Aaaand in the right corner, we have Guinevere's Crib and Bedding, custom made hand-painted solid bitch topped with a to die for canopy. Not for the faint at heart, the chandelier boasts a $965.00 price tag, which is then overshadowed by the crib and bedding, which will set you back $3,650.00 before shipping. These items and more available at poshtots.com.

Posh Bebe Crib Bedding
![]() |
| Image found here |
I am a horribly indecisive individual. I am in the process of redoing my own bedroom right now, and currently have a notebook of stores I have visited and bedding that I like. I always wait for that wow factor, the bedding that screams "I'm the one!" But everything I see that wows me stays on the shelf, for I fear the moment I buy it I will see something that wows me more.
This crib bedding wowed me. Honestly, I get annoyed with the overly girly, boy-y overused themes: zoo, butterflies, cowboys, sports, princesses... My children would have something different. I am a sucker for bohemian-looking patchwork quilts, so when I saw this, I thought "Wow."
The Posh Bebe Crib Bedding is described as "youthful yet sophisticated" for obvious reasons. There are so many elements and colors to pull from here. It is displayed in white, but I think it would look gorgeous against dark cherry. Red walls, green walls, pink... endless possibilities.
I am in love.
For a very large price, this set can be purchased at www.luxurylamb.com.
