Junior Gaultier Sailor Stripe Hat

When I was in art school, "juxtaposition" was the buzz word. Two things unalike, acting as one. A drawing of beautiful daffodils with discarded cigarette butts in the soil they grow from. Art students try so hard to be different that they pretty much form one boring type within themselves. Sidenote: I have strong feelings about what I learned (and did not learn) in art school. Juxtaposition is what leads me to this hat. A winter beanie with a summery sailor theme. It's pretty odd, but it works. This is 2011 people, the nautical theme is not just for summer anymore! Feed your need to stand out and buy this for $60.00 at Mon Petit Child.

Junior Gaulter Bebe Signature Set

Mon Petit Child is a treasure trove for new spring clothing right now, it makes me sad that we still have probably two solid months before the season of patio drinking begins. When I woke up this morning, the sun was shining and it just looked warm outside, so I immediately rushed to my living room and flung open my patio doors to let some air in. Turned out to be 38 degree air, so I promptly closed the doors and pouted for a bit. At least it's not January I guess. So Junior Gaultier... I have had my eye on this collection since it made its debut, but I don't really see anything that wows me. I think some designers start a baby clothing line just to have something else to put their name on, while others (like Baby Dior and Dolce & Gabbana) put forth a giant effort to create amazing things in mini sizes. This $102.00 set by Junior Gaultier is one of the cuter things I have seen from the collection, I especially like the little hat with a top knot. Still waiting on something that gives me the wow factor though.

Junior Gaultier Girls Pink Tutu Skirt

Some things just look like they were borne from an expert designer's hand, and this skirt is one of them. Not something that you would ever see strolling down the aisles of Target or The Children's Place (although I love both of those stores), this pink tutu skirt is fashioned with plenty of puffy tulle and has a cute - but more importantly soft and non-itchy - waistband that adds a lot of casualness and has the words "Gaultier bebe" printed in black across the back. Absolutely adorable. Buy this for $99.00 at Children Salon.
