Gucci High-Tops!
Truthfully speaking, I never thought high-tops would come back. I remember my favorite outfit when I was little: Reebok high-tops, jean shorts (knee-length, rolled cuffs), aand a white t-shirt with a green waist-tied shirt over the top of it. Oh, and a side ponytail. Cannot forget the side ponytail. The 80s and early 90s were a very strange time fashion-wise, but apparently some elements were a good enough idea to bring back. Fashion is fascinating because it is very circular. If something was once a trend and that trend dies, it will come back in good time. So high-tops. Not the most comfortable shoe, and not something that will ever be fashionable on adults ever again in my opinion, but pretty adorable for babies (example 334324523 of the "Babies Can Pull Off Anything Rule"). From Gucci, these Coda high-top sneakers are made from soft pink leather with durable rubber soles and sweet pink laces. Find them for a nominal cost of $235.00 at Neiman Marcus.

Fancy Fur Baby Booties
Well... it doesn't get much fancier than this: fuzzy leopard faux fur, pink velvet ribbon tied into bows on the sides, and a rhinestone logo. Under normal circumstances, if I read a description like that I'd turn up my nose. It just sounds like too much, doesn't it? But... in this case it's not. It's not at all. Let's call it "Monnalisa Magic," because everything they touch is just pure gold. These are fantastic. If I was out somewhere and saw a baby wearing them, I'd stop and inquire. They almost even make me excited for winter. Almost. These are sure to sell out quick, so get them while you can for $101.00 at Children Salon!

TOMS Mary Janes! With Glitter!
Yes yes and YES. After overcoming my anti-hipster attitude-induced distaste for TOMS shoes, I have all but fallen in love with them. I especially love their "One for One" motto: for every pair of shoes purchased, a pair is donated to someone in need. So the hipsters had the right idea... this time anyway. Red glitter shoes are fabulous and fun for any little girl, even if they are not familiar with the Wizard of Oz and Dorothy's famous ruby slippers. Sometimes about them just makes you feel like dancing around. And with their super durability, your little girl can dance until she drops. Find these for $36.00 at Neiman Marcus.

I love how summer creeps up every years and somehow I seem to fall short of my springtime fitness goals... except this year I randomly decided to get back into running and am up to five miles a day. Even crazier yet, I have signed up for a half marathon in October. Goals are good to have, right? In any case, one of my favorite parts about summer is ditching the socks and shoes for painted toes and sandals. And why should your little one be left out of the fun? Especially with all of the cuteness popping up around Children Salon lately, wow! I went ahead and picked some favorites (pictured above) but there are soooo many more to choose from. This year seems to be about embellishments galore: ribbons, bows, charms, flowers... loving it all. I guess the only issue might be settling on just one pair or two that you like!

Burberry Baby Knit Booties
I randomly dreamed about frogs last night (I was chasing them and trying to catch them... what am I, 5?) so when I saw these cute little green booties, it seemed oddly fitting to talk about them. Hi, by the way. I know it's been a while. More on that later. So a little break from the normal for Burberry, these colorful booties (this shade is appropriately named "asparagus") are made of soft knit cotton and would be a fun addition to any outfit. Find them for just $60.00 at Saks.

New Guess Baby Shoes!
I have to be honest, the first thing that comes to mind when I hear the name Guess would be those t-shirts that everyone had back in the 90's with the giant question marks on them. I also think of that scene in the Brady Bunch movie... that I am going to choose not to describe. If you have seen it, you know what I mean. But then I see things like these adorable baby shoes, and I know that Guess is still around making new statements every season. I am pretty in love with the pink check and striped shoes; the logo in rhinestones is also pretty awesome. The prices are very reasonable too, all around $50.00. Get your favorite pair at Children Salon.

The New Dolce & Gabbana Butterfly Print = GENIUS.
One of my favorite things to see during the changing of the seasons are the new prints and trends that designers tend to favor. So far for Spring 2012, my favorites are Roberto Cavalli's floral print (can be seen here) and D&G's vibrant butterfly print. Maybe I am gravitating toward things that are warm-weather related at the moment, but these prints are great nonetheless. I love how the accents of the butterfly print clothing are all orange, my favorite. I'd love to see a D&G towel in this... maybe orange on one side, butterflies on the other. Ugh... is it summer yet? Find all of these at Lavish Kids!

Burberry Infant's Sophie Ballet Flats
Oh my goodness. These may be one of my favorite pairs of baby shoes to date. A weird choice, right? I guess their appeal to me lies in the fact that they remind me of the baby shoes that I used to put on my dolls when I was little. The shoes that used to be my own. They were impossibly huge on my "babies'" feet, but I could hardly imagine them ever fitting mine. That was a very special thing to me, that I had these shoes that were mine that I never remembered wearing, but had them, and had my own dolls to put them on. Ugh... what a strange thing to get sentimental about. I blame the wine I'm drinking. Aaaaaanyway, Burberry baby shoes: classic yet modern. The ultimate combo. The mary jane style paired with the ankle strap (Gucci uses the ankle strap a lot) paired with an oversize Burberry check bow on the toes? Love. Like a lot. Find these for $150.00 at Saks.

More TOMS Glittery Baby Shoes!
I was so thrilled to see that they now make these for ADULTS! The only color I have seen so far in adult sizes is silver, but there must be more out there. As far as little people sizes, these colors are just the beginning! There is also ice blue, pink, red... a dazzling array! TOMS are growing on my more and more every day. Find your favorite color for your favorite baby, only $34.00 at Neiman Marcus.

Hello Versace Young!
I love it love it love it! In my opinion, every big line and big name should explore the options of a baby collection; I mean why not?? If anything, you have the opportunity for different styles, cuts, and body types if you ever get bored of designing for adults! (Like that would ever happen. But still.) I just love the idea of all the big names having collections for the little people, and the newest on my radar is Versace Young. How adorable are these baby shoes? Sure the top ones are super reminiscent of Gucci and Baby Dior's ballet flats, but they are still classic. And the ornate almost Baroque design on the soft blue flats have me about falling out of my chair. Baroque patterns on modern day baby shoes? Genius. Enough said. For $83.00 (top) and $64.00 (bottom) these perfect little shoes won't even break the bank. Find them both at Children Salon.

Burberry Infant's Check Booties
It's official: the Midwest US is having a brown and gray Christmas this year. I don't think I have ever seen so much rain and dreariness. So, perhaps talking about some pretty Burberry baby shoes will help to brighten things up. Cotton check with soft leather trim, these make me smile because they remind me of the traditional baby shoes you see from back in the day: the awkward ones with the wide toe and high ankle for better support. A modern twist on a classic never hurt anyone! Find these for $115.00 at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Juicy Couture Floral Print High Tops
High tops crack me up... who ever thought they would come back? I know that I certainly thought that they would forever live in the madness that was the 80's and 90's. Not so much. It is however interesting to note that you don't see a huge amount of high tops for adults, but for kids they are everywhere. It's like they are trying to get us accustomed to the idea first, before re-introducing them into adult fashion vocabulary. I don't think I am ever going to personally speak high top, but for some reason they work so well for baby shoes! [Example #984573984 of the Babies Can Get Away With Anything Rule.] These flowery shoes from Juicy Couture are a great example of high tops really working for the younger crowd. Girly colors and a whimsical feminine pattern meet quasi-punk with the multiple chunky belt buckles making for a funky and fun shoe! Find them for $58.00 at Juicy Couture.

Holiday Shopping Season HAS ARRIVED!!!
Confession: I am a Christmas fanatic. My decorations were up the weekend before Thanksgiving. Last night, I had to turn on the air conditioning in my condo due to the amount of heat all of my lights were generating. That is not a joke. It was 76 in here. I went Black Friday shopping, which was much different this year as many stores opened at midnight. I don't think I have pulled an all-nighter since college. And at the end of this one, there wasn't a final exam to take, but a $19.00 three-crock pot-buffet-thing. Why use just one crock pot when you can use three at once?
So, in any case, it's here: the most wonderful time of year. The time of love, snow, twinkling lights, overeating, and SHOPPING. So let's begin with a happy little pair of high tops that depict my overall feelings toward this season. From Juicy Couture, these canvas shoes are bringing the 80's back with the style, and the 60's (I think??) with the smiley face graphic! They are quirky and unique, and could really be worn in any season (just not in the snow). Printed on the soles are the words "Smell Like Couture." Loving them. Find your pair for $58.00 at Bloomingdale's.

After Over A Month's Hiatus: Designer Baby Returns.
Wow... it has really been over a month since my last post. I have had several very exciting side projects going on that have been taking up aaaaaall of my free time after work, but I am now finally getting things settled! So, without further adieu, check out these adorable prewalker shoes from Inch Blue:
These come in a variety of colors for both boys and girls. Made of soft leather with elastic ankles, these shoes will feel more like warm socks to your baby but will protect their feet while they are crawling all over creation. Soft leather also means that they will stretch and give a bit, kind of grow with your baby's feet. At just $27.00 each, these would be a great thing to an outfit given as a gift! Find them at Children Salon.

Juicy Couture Faux Fur Boots
Well this certainly is a lot of pink fur, which under normal circumstances would make me run screaming for the hills. But yet again, Juicy Couture is making me feel like a flip-flopper because I actually really like these boots. Granted, the faux fur up around the ankles is a bit Snooki-esque, but the "babies can get away with anything" rule comes into play here, turning these into an instant girly hit. The ribbon with the gold Juicy logo on it is just perfect. Find these for $68.00 at Bloomingdales.

Love From Australia Sheepskin Booties
I. Am. In. Love. With. These. Booties. I'm almost ashamed to admit (okay, totally ashamed to admit) that I have never heard of Love From Australia before, but after seeing these precious sheepskin booties, I am definitely going to do a little research! It is something about the combination of the beige sheepskin with the white cable knit, which reminds me of leg warmers (LOVE) in a way. These little shoes will turn heads, no doubt about it. Find them for $76.00 at Children Salon.

Fendi Baby Suede Zucca Boots
Oh Fendi. I thought I was impressed by your spring and summer collections when they rolled out first season. I thought that nothing could top the frilly dresses, sea creature-themed swimwear, and that ditzy flower pattern that I fell oh so in love with. Then, I saw your autumn and winter 2011 collection. Pieces and pieces keep coming out and with every new shoe or dress, I am starting to feel like this season is somehow outdoing last season! Take these brown suede boots. They are perfect. The combination of the dark suede with the lighter fleece, the open side with the buckle that give them an almost rugged feel, and that chic designer touch with the Zucca print on the toes. Everything about them is just to-die-for... including the heart attack-inducing price tag: $211.00, found at Children Salon.

Fendi Baby Mary Janes!
Happy Saturday everyone! I had one of those mornings where I woke up (technically my kitten woke me up by attacking my feet through the covers, because heaven forbid I have to flip over while sleeping) I had that panicked feeling that I was late for work. Then, I realized it was Saturday. And even better, that tomorrow is Sunday and I don't have to wake up for work then either. I probably spend a little too much time being bitter about work... working on changing that. SO, here we have the most adorable pair of Fendi mary janes, which upon viewing became my favorite pair of Fendi baby shoes I have ever seen. Black velvet with Zucca print toes, these will be sure to impress anyone who is familiar with this famous logo. Find them for $199.00 at Lavish Kids.

Chloe Baby Brown Leather Boots
Who is excited for boot season? I know that I am, that's for sure. As much as I love painted toenails and changing the color like ever other day, after four to five months of sandal season, that gets exhausting. I fee like it has been forever since I have talked about Chloe, so I thought these perfect boots were the perfect place to pick back up. Made from soft brown leather with exterior stitching for a kind of rustic feel, Chloe turns around and counteracts the ruggedness with cream bow tied around the ankles. Again: just perfect, and perfectly Chloe. Find these for $131.00 at joseph M.
New Baby Dior Prewalker Shoes!
Not gonna lie... half the fun of Baby Dior shoes can be found in the suitcase gift box they come in. I would probably use it as a makeup case, or to carry hair accessories while I am traveling. Or maybe even a lunch box? I don't know why, but I have always loved old-fashioned suitcases. Ever seen the movie (or read the amazing book first for that matter) White Oleander? The suitcases that Astrid made at the very end which depict the different phases of her life have been a little obsession of mine for a while. If you haven't seen the movie (or read the book), I highly recommend both. Amazing. So back to the adorable little shoes that come inside the suitcase. They are made of soft leather and lined with soft toweling. I like them because they will match a lot of things. Not that that really matters with baby shoes, but still. They are sporty and fun and could go with a preppy sweater or a track suit. Find them for $145.00 at Children Salon.
