The little jewelry I remember having when I was little consisted of plastic beads and elastic. Or was made of candy. Yet... I loved it. I had this bracelet that spelled out my name in these cheap plastic beads, which was surrounded by cheap rainbow plastic beads, and I wore that thing until the elastic was stretched out to necklace size.
