New Gift Sets from Armani Junior

It's only 10:40 and it's already been a crazy Sunday: awoke to my upstairs neighbors (I live in a condo) blasting rap music and vacuuming at 6am, kitten pulled down shower curtain at 7am, some random guy with a wrong number started psycho dialing my phone (think 12 times in ten minutes) and leaving random texts for someone named "Meech" at 8am... This is a bad trend to start because I have to watch my boss's kids tonight and they are psychotic by nature (they probably get it from my boss). Oh well, at least life is never boring! 

Anyway, I saw these cute little gift sets at Lavish Kids this morning and am a very big fan, mostly because of the linen overalls. I think they have a kind of French-y feel and would love the opportunity to buy the his and hers version for someone with boy girl twins. Like it's ever easy to pick favorites from Bonpoint! I will never grow tired of how they piece outfit ideas together for you... how does one get that job?! I'd probably pay someone to have the privilege to do that, rather than actually be paid. I'm not going to lie, I actually have not checked out the entire spring collection yet; in a weird way I want to do it little by little. Savor it. Like box of chocolates. Or something. Have I mentioned that I have taken a bit of cold medicine today and am feeling a little loopy? Seriously though, loving this spring stuff. And I feel like the girls collection is dainty but with a bit of tomboy thrown in there, which I LOVE. Girls like to play in the mud too! But hopefully not in Bonpoint clothes. Too expensive. Armani Baby Three Piece Set

Does anyone else just loathe Mondays? I feel like I am having a midlife crisis, at the ripe old age of 28. I went to school for art. I love art, everything about it. My parents were pretty unhappy with my choice to major in art and history of art in college, but it is what made me happy, and I was the one paying the loans, so I did it. 

After college I did not want a 9-5 job, so I became a bartender. I was making great money and it was a fun job. That also did not make my parents happy. I started managing a restaurant two years ago, a restaurant that was doomed from the start. In order to get out of it, I took a desk job that a friend of mine who was moving had up for grabs. My parents were finally happy because in their mind, you have to have a 9-5 desk job that you hate in order to be normal and to be accepted as an adult.

Now I am unhappy. Miserable is probably more like it. My parents and friends always say, "That is how it's supposed to be when you become an adult." But what if I don't want to accept that? The people that believe that are the people who have jobs that they hate for 40 years then retire and wonder where their time went. What if I want to go down a different road and do something that other people may not see as legit but that I am happy doing? What if, as a college-educated woman, I want to make art and tend bar and let that be my life??

Sorry, this whole thing has been on my mind a lot lately. I apologize to everyone who has had to read through my emotional word-vomit in order to get to the relevant subject of the above-pictured Armani three piece gift set. Marie Laure Renier's Le Carrousel : A Fresh Idea from France

Those who know me know that I am always on the lookout for anything and everything new and interesting. I always have my eye out for someone who does something different, and I found a bit of that at Le Carrousel, a French clothing boutique with a website that pretty much lets you design your own outfits by letting you pick the colors, patterns, and combinations you desire. Born in August 2010, the idea is pretty simple, and pretty genius: you have your basic clothing pieces: shirts, bloomers, overalls, dresses, headbands, you name it. When you select each piece on the website, you are shown multiple fabric choices that are a fun mix of French country meets French sophisticated. Those who know me also know that the classic yet modern combo is pretty much a home run in my book. Each piece you choose is then hand-made by the designer, Marie Laure Renier. Kind of awesome, right? Here are some great examples of her creations:

Burberry Baby Check Jumper

I swear I am not trying to only talk about baby girls clothes all the time... but it is so easy to when there are dresses, hair stuff, ribbons, ruffly bloomers... I really feel like I ignore the boys clothing unintentionally because there is always such a massive amount of girl stuff to oogle over. So now it's time to oogle over some boy stuff. This jumper and tee shirt set from Burberry is that classically adorable look that I adore. I have been waiting and waiting and waiting... My weekend was pretty jam-packed, all the way up until the big day yesterday (Valentine's Day). I don't have a traditional valentine; I have a friend who is perpetually single like me, and on Valentine's Day we go out and eat cake and martinis for dinner and see a "chic flick." (Sidenote: No Strings Attached is a surprisingly witty and lovable movie). Anyway, point being I have not had a chance to stalk BonPoint in a few days. I was pleasantly surprised when I jumped on on my lunch break and was met with a vast new collection of spring and summer clothes. Demin, overalls, and plaid seem to be big for the boys and it is all about floral patterns for the girls. I shall post my favorite outfits as follows:

A Very Expensive Dior Tracksuit.

Good lord. Buying this tracksuit would take up just about half of my Christmas budget. Brought into existence by none other than Dior, this gray boys tracksuit is 100% cotton yet still somehow carries a $369.00 price tag. Stating "Raise your voice louder!" on the front, the only bells and whistles this outfit seems to have are a couple zippers and pockets. I guess the Dior name speaks for itself. And here you thought velour tracksuits were just for women who try too hard to dress down. Now you baby boy will not feel left out, thanks to this Roberto Cavalli tracksuit. A very manly navy and gray combo, I actually really like the suede patch details. I wonder what the appropriate age is for boys to stop wearing head to toe fuzzy fabric. An Armani Baby.

This is what an Armani baby looks like. My interest has been piqued by baby clothes by big designer names... I am just having trouble figuring out how much all of this stuff costs. I guess if you have to ask you can't afford it, as they always say. The little guy is adorable, dressed in some of Armani Junior's Fall 2010 collection. My favorite part is the plaid detailing on the cuffs of the jeans. So preciously expensive.
