So while I am finally ready to welcome the idea of fall (not actual fall, just the idea of it), there is no way that it's time to think about winter. The Christmas season - my favorite time of year. Everything else about winter - ie ice scrapers, snow driving, dark at 5:00... not my cup of tea. That being said, these items from Catimini's winter 2012 line were too adorable to not share. We will call it "getting our feet wet," so maybe when actual winter arrives it will not be such a shock. Find all of these at Children Salon.

Catimini Pink Knitted Coat
I will not turn on the heat, I will not turn on the heat, I will not turn on the heat... Not only because I am stubborn, but also because I do not care for the way the heat makes you house smell like it's about to burn down the first time you turn it on since the year before. Gross. I need a warm coat like this one from Catimini. It makes me smile because the knit pattern reminds me of a funky rendition of Fairisle: a perfectly Catimini twist on one of this coming season's most popular trends. Fleece lining will be sure to keep your little one warm while making a fun statement at the same time. Find this for $100.00 at Alex and Alexa.

Gorgeous Colors from Catimini.
Wow. Catimini's color palette is always second to none to begin with, but this dress is just exceptional. In their usual trend of combining multiple colors, patterns, and textures, Catimini has created this dress with a corduroy overlay (it is actually one piece) with a combination of a whimsical owl pattern and small floral pattern. Pair that with an attached cotton top with faux layered sleeves and even more flowers and you have a dress that will be sure to turn heads in its uniqueness. Sometimes about teal... mermaids, oceans, twilight skies... there is just something majestic about it. Find this dress for $104.00 at Children Salon.

Catimini Urban Striped Hat with Crochet Flower
I'd wear this hat, not gonna lie. Although a coworker of mine shared an interesting theory of his recently: he said he does not date girls that are "Hat Girls," i.e. girls that wear hats all the time because they usually end up being crazy. I am wondering if this is just his personal experience or if it could harbor some potential truth? Who knows. I wear hats when it's cold, pretty simple. Catimini is genius, we all know that. Pretty much every piece of fabric that they touch turns into gold, yet in a crazy, colorful, multi-pattern sense. Their fall and winter 2011 collection is no exception. You can pre order this har for $42.00, as well as their other things, from Forest and Zoe.

Amazing Catimini Gloves!
I have been very motivated today. Ever have those days where you can't seem to stop doing stuff? Why can't every day be like that?? After my kitten woke me up at 8am with a foot attack, I have since reorganized my studio, added about 10 new strands of various decorative lights (I even found those old-fashioned bubble lights at the thrift store yesterday!) and am ready to create. Write. Paint. Draw. I've been thinking and scheming and planning a lot lately, and I have a lofty goal of saving up enough money this year to quit my job in May and depart for a cross-country road trip on June 1, 2012. Hell, if the world is going to end that year anyway, might as well see the US before it's destroyed, right?
None of that has to do with Catimini gloves. I need to remember that this blog is Designer Baby, not Jenna's Dreams to Quit Her Job and Do Crazy Things. So if these gloves were made in adult sizes, I would purchase them. Maybe some lucky women with dainty little hands can wear these too. The ribbon laced up the middle is what really gets me: it's so unique and sooo Catimini. Made from an angora blend, these are not only fashionable but also soft and warm. It's not too early to start Christmas shopping and these would make a perfect gift! Find them for $49.00 at Children Salon.

Unique Scarves from Catimini
You know, there usually comes a point in the summer that I am ready to start thinking about fall. I get sick of the heat, the electric bills from running the AC so much, having the humidity turn my hair into an afro that would make Diana Ross jealous... Yeah I am not to that point yet. I am loving my garden, spending weekends laying by the pool, and the State Fair is in town for the next two weeks! I'm sorry, I am a huge fan of fair food and am not afraid to admit it. Deep fried Snickers here I come! But in any case, I saw these Catimini scarves at Children Salon and thought they were so genius that I couldn't resist sharing them with everyone. I want to have boy-girl twins just so I can get both. Machine-washable, fleece lining, and a very reasonable price of $44.00 each. Yes please!

Catimini Spirit Jours Light Blue Footie
As usual, Catimini keeps cranking out the cutest of the cute when it comes to baby items. Mixtures of colors and patterns and shapes make for a veritable smorgasboard of adorable. What is kind of crazy is that right now all of the summer stuff is already going on sale in order to make room for fall. I am not a fan of this because I start to get that panicky feeling to begin with when June comes to an end. June always FLIES by for me. July too. Then in August I start to get sad because that is the last real summer month. It's so stupid. I should just enjoy the days and not worry about what month they fall in, but sometimes it's just so... hard! Oh well. This little footie is actually on sale at Mon Petit Child for a very reasonable $35.75. Grab them up people!

Catimini Baby Boy's Romper: Genius.
I've said it once, I'll say it again: I am in love with Catimini. Can't get enough of it. It is hard for me to be completely bowled over by baby boy clothes sometimes. Dress clothes are one thing, but as for the every day bang around in type stuff, I can be a bit hard to impress. So naturally, leave it to my long-time love Catimini to impress me. Everything about this romper is fabulous to me: the colors, the combination of stripes, the false layer look with the open buttons, and the cute little cat sewn onto the front. Snap legs and back for practicality paired with the bright unique design: winning combination. See this fairly pricey $97.00 romper at Children Salon.

Catimini Keeps Bringing On the Cuteness
I am just waiting for it. We have had maybe a week of sunshine and while it's still freezing in the mornings, the afternoons have been nice. Spring is so close I can feel it. So I am just waiting for that last surprise snowstorm that just really makes people go crazy with frustration. Ahh... life in the midwest. It has gone without saying (although I have said it multiple times) that Catimini's spring and summer collection is where they really shine: the bright colors and bold patterns fit perfectly with summer dresses, skirts, accessories, you name it. Best part about this sun hat: it's reversible, so you are pretty much getting two hats in one. I almost like the all-red side better, with the little blue flower at the edge. For $36.00, buy yours at Children Salon.

Catimini Dresses Are Awesome.
Catimini's clothing is easy to pick out because of the vivid colors and combinations of patters. I love their bohemian style because it reminds me of crazy 70's hippie stuff. This dress fits that idea perfectly, especially because of the (slightly odd) kitty (I think?) at the bottom. Maybe something one of the designers saw during a 70's acid trip? Who knows, but it works. My favorite part though are the little triangle tabs that stick out of the middle. See this dress for $76.00 at childrensalon.com.

Catimini Ruffle Skirt
I love Catimini because their busy and colorful designs are so bohemian. Their clothing line actually reminds me a lot of Anthropologie. This ruffly skirt is maybe one of my favorites. Found at forestandzoe.com, each layer is made of a different patterned fabric. I love crazy quilts; I am a fan of this multi-fabric idea. And for the umpteenth time, it leaves room for improv with different color shirts, tights, and accessories which is always a great thing. The price? How about $70.00. Not cheap, but not devastating.

Catimini Spirit Waffle Hat
Love love love love. This little hat would be the perfect addition to any edgy, punk-ish, snowboarder baby boy wardrobe. I would pair it with a military-style navy jacket... and actually the more I look at this, I think it could be adorable on an edgy little girl as well. The Catimini Spirit Waffle Hat can be purchased for $40.00 at monpetitchild.com.

Catimini Skirt and Tights
In. Love. With. This. Skirt. Myself, I own four eyelet skirts, I pair them with everything. Dress up or dress down... they are a staple for me during the warmer months. I am not sure how I feel about the tights along with the skirt, it might be too much color for me. I could more see the orange eyelets with chubby bare legs and little brown sandals, maybe a brown cab driver cap. Too sweet.
These items can be found at www.forestandzoe.com.
